COSTUME jewellery is the perfect way to bling up an outfit without breaking the bank.
The high street is especially helpful if you want to trial a fleeting trend and don't want to invest in any "serious" jewellery in order to do so.
Everyone knows that when you're not paying top whack you can't expect exceptional quality but you do expect your high street purchases to last a little while at least.
I put eight different stores to the test to see whose low-cost rings would turn fingers green the quickest.
With adornments from Topshop, ASOS, Claire's, Accessoize, New Look, River Island, H&M and Primark all the major retailers were covered.
I wore a ring (or rings) from each on each finger over the course of five days to see how they lasted with the normal wear and tear of life.
